What are "Quick Registrations" and when is it best to use them? 10/06/2008

The "Quick Registrations" are a great feature found on the Atelier "S" series, "SL" series and the latest AT800, 900 and 900c. They are predominantly aimed at a player who plays "true organ style" of playing - Both Upper & Lower Manuals plus Pedals. The main reason for this is that when you select a Quick Registration, (for eg: Charming Strings) the entire instrument is set for you with a beautiful combination of strings/orchestral voices, across all 3 manuals. The Quick Registration also selects an appropriate rhythm and in the background, takes care of things like reverb, volume levels, sustain and a whole host of small but important adjustments to give that perfect sound. As you can imagine, all these settings are available for you to set manually but from the onset, the name "Quick Registrations"..................... was intended to mean just that........Quick!

Here are one or two of our favourites for you to try.

  1. Select "Quick Registrations" from the Main Screen. By default, this will display "Classical" in a red box at the top.
  2. Select "Romantic Organ" from the screen. This will give you a very nice sweet classical organ sound across the whole organ.

As you can see, that is "Quick"!

Here's another for you.

  1. Select "Quick Registrations" from the Main Screen. By default, this will display "Classical" in a red box at the top.
  2. Select the "Classical" tab (Red Box at the top os the screen). This is how you change category.
  3. Select " Movie & Show"
  4. Select "Charming" This is a wonderful rich string sound which is perfect for the likes of Charmaine!............Charming?........isn't that a coincidence?

Remember, these are mainly aimed at the player who plays both manuals and pedals. If you don't normally play the pedals, this is not a problem as the Atelier can assist you with this. Please see the next question.

What if I like the sounds I'm hearing but I do not play the pedals? 10/06/2008

You can still use the "Quick Registrations" but as the Pedal is set up for manual playing, you would need to press the "To Lower" button (located near the Bass Pedal section) each time you select a Quick Registration. This will give you the bass pedal sound without the need for you to play them. The bass note heard will be governed by the chord you play on the lower manual.
